Trueform Win TfL's Countdown RTI Sign Contract
15/09/2009
Trueform has been awarded a 12 year contract to design, manufacture, install and maintain new Countdown RTI displays across Transport for London's Greater London bus network.
In conjunction with Trueform's subsidiary company, Ferrograph, Trueform will be manufacturing, installing and maintaining London's new generation on-street RTI Countdown signs using in house resources from the company's London based manufacturing, installation and maintenance service centre.
Market leaders in the provision of electronic Real Time Information display technologies and associated infrastructure hardware, Trueform Ferrograph provides specialist intelligent display solutions for transportation and media applications across bus, underground and over-ground rail and air passenger networks.
Trueform's signs will deliver bus arrival information in 'real time' to passengers waiting at TfL's network of bus stops and shelters. The Countdown system enables passengers waiting for a bus to know exactly when their bus is due to arrive, enabling them to plan and react to changing events affecting their journeys.
The planned completion of the new Countdown system is the Summer of 2012.
Jonathan Morley, Technical Director, Trueform said "Our systems and those of our subsidiary company Ferrograph aim to transform bus shelters and stops into places that offer greater information, protection and value to the customer. Our philosophy is to attract travellers by transforming the waiting experience by making public transport systems more accessible and inclusive, streets and cities safer, cleaner, more attractive and environmentally friendly, through the use of innovative technologies.
We are delighted to have been awarded this Countdown contract and the delivery of this new range of innovative displays for Tfl is the latest step in out ongoing programme to improve the travelling experience".
